Tumi Jano Na Re Priyo - Lyrics (from Potol Kumar Gaanwala - Star Jalsha)

Off late I have been into a lot of TV, which meant following the Daily soaps. One of them which I started to watch is this Bengali Show, a Story of a Little Village Girl who was abandoned by her Father and brought up by her Mother in a village. Her name is Poteshwori or "Potol" as everyone calls her.

She is a child Prodigy with exceptional Singing talent where she not only mesmerises everyone with her singing but she is also an impromptu Song Maker.
This soap telecasted on Star Jalsha is Potol Kumar Gaanwala.I love the way the show started with the child and her journey to find her Famous Singer Father, whilst making stops on the way meeting and making friends, fans, foes and Singing being her only go-to thing. As she would say "Gaan Peyeche" :)
The show obviously contains a lot of songs. Most of the songs are Folk Songs and some are exceptionally well written by the shows makers. One of them is "Tumi Jano Na Re Priyo", a very famous Baul Song, but so well moulded by the singer of the show and on the lips of the protagonist. I just Love this rendition.

I did not find any written Lyrics of this song and hence thought of jotting it down. And here it goes:

Tumi Jano Na Re Priyo
Tumi mor jiboneri sadhona

Tomaye prothom jedin dekhechi, Mone apon menechi (2)

Tumi bondhu amar mon o manona

Tumi Jano Na ...

Falguno dol purnimaye, Mridu mondo batash boye

Ful o bone pulokeri alpona (2)

O sei modhuro madhobi raat e, Bodhua tomari sathe (2)

Korechilam je jamini japona

Tumi Jano Na...

Chole gele amaye fele, ki agun buke jwele

Ekdino dekhite tumi ele na (2)

Tomayee pele ei dukher kutire, dekhaitam bokkhyo chire (2)

Buker jwalaa mukhe bola chole na

Tumi Jano Na...

Ek Duje Ke Vaaste

Hothon pe tere, Shikwon ka shor hain
Par ye Nigahein, kehti kuch aur hain....

Jo hai mile Lamhe kahin, Choot na jaaye Haath se
Mil jaane de, Dil jo bane,
Ek Duje Ke Vaaste .....

Kyun hai Dabeen si Khwahishen, Dil mein Tere bewajah
Jaa ke zara usey bol de, Chahta Jise tu Raha...

Kahin teri Khamoshiyan, Jeet na jaaye Pyaar se
Mil jaane de, Dil jo bane,
Ek Duje Ke Vaaste ...........................

A Love Story of A Life Time

"He watched me with bated breath as I was about to take the leap...but I stood at the edge and froze, I couldn't make myself do it...

I walked back towards him.

and He said "You know all the time you were standing on the edge I kept praying to God that you don't jump. I don't know but just didn't want you to. And now I'm so thankful that you didn't."

While he said this he had tears in his eyes.

That's the most romantic thing he ever said to me
"

~ Excerpt from Tina Kuwajerwala's Interview, talking about her husband, the famous TV personality Hussain Kuwajerwala.

These guys have that kind of Love Story that I would die to have. Love at first sight, courtship for 9 years and a happy, blissful marriage of 10 years on the go. Tina and Hussain's Love is Unconditional and Tina supported Hussain through thick and thin.

She has been through the periods of jealousy of seeing her husband with other ladies' on TV but Hussain would go to her every day after work explaining to her the nuances of his profession.

She could not walk hands-in-hands with him during their courtship period as the media always followed Hussain and she had to watch him hugging and kissing on TV while he went on days of Outing for shoot.

But this did not impact their relationship. And at last they got married on the day on which they had first met. So Romantic.

After that she came to lime light, participated in reality shows, went through rigorous rehearsals, just for him, won the trophy despite being a newbie, and then the saga goes on.

They call their home "Heaven". She surprises him with decorated bedroom on V-day and gadgets on Anniversaries. Despite being a business-woman herself, she spent all her time with him, when he went off-work. They enjoy the small things of life which they never did before. And as per Hussain, she surprises him each day.

Hussain on the other hand, is a one-woman Man. He is a thorough gentleman and he made it clear to all around him that he is born "married" to Tina. He becomes emotional just at a mention of her. He admires her, the way she carries herself.

Tina pitched in to change his image on TV, styled him for his shows, supported him in all the shows he participated. She is his emotional back-bone.

Tina and Hussain went through a lot of ordeal to get married being a Hindu and Muslim respectively, but one thing they both were determined about was, that Tina wouldn't marry anyone but Hussain and same went for Hussain.

Fans who love Hussain automatically love Tina, because Hussain's lifeline is Tina and he loves her more than his life. In fact, Tina is the one who corresponds to Hussain's fan-mails, interacts with them on various social platforms. She is the only PR Hussain has got, by marriage :)

I am writing about them in my blog because I adore and admire this couple. Although I am a big fan of Hussain but can't imagine him without Tina.

If I ever get the Man of my Life, I would want such a love story to be mine. Hussain and Tina are lucky that they have spent half of their Lives in Love, not many are so lucky.

I pray to God that Hussain and Tina keep inspiring lovers for ages to come. In this jet-world they have retained the essence of Love, Trust and Faith. This world requires more people like them. And on my D-day, whenever it might be, I would like to get blessings from this couple, because they are Gods of Love, at-least in my World.

At the end I would say, I too would want a Love Story, just like them.

Just Because....

"You wonder how I survive?
Survive a fall, Survive a break?

You might wonder how am I living
You might think I was a fake

I do not have an answer for you

But I wish one day you stand by my death bed
And my naked tears tell my truth to you"

The Mystery Guy

On a wait listed ticket from Bangalore to Kolkata,I was allotted on a Side Lower berth at the last moment much to my dissatisfaction. I was travelling alone and had resorted to my headphones for the journey.
Since it was a wait listed allotment a second person was allotted to my seat too...that too a guy..I was all the more irked.
We sat there without the least speaking to each other only thing was cleaning up the places for meals n he kept my seat when I went to the washroom.

As night fell, he moved to the now vacant side upper berth and let me lie down. I was very thankful to him. but then with so many people walking across I really couldn't sleep n so sat up. He saw this and came jolting down saying it was hot up there. And then started, what I recollect the most memorable journey of my life.

He started amusing me with jokes, fundas and also some magic. First time I noticed he was damn handsome, tall n smart. He was a techie too, I guess a tech lead in a reputed MNC. I was thoroughly taken aback by him. The night was never ending and God knows how we both kept on talking being strangers. This continued till dawn break and then we had tea n more gossips. Passengers of the opposite berth could not understand the change that took place between the previous day and now. We were happy pals n singing along.

But then as we reached our destination, he got down and I was greeted by my family and without a goodbye he disappeared.  I din know how to search him or where should I be looking neither did I have his phone number. And he never looked back.

Hmph...He remains in my memory, as a Mystery Guy and I would visit him in it when I journey alone, the next time!!
